Welcome to Traveling Socotra. By accessing or using our website (www.travelingsocotra.com) and our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read these terms carefully before using our website or purchasing our tours.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using our website or purchasing our tours, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, as well as our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our website or services.
2. Use of the Website
- You must be at least 18 years old to use our website or purchase our tours.
- You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and booking information.
3. Booking and Payments
- All bookings are subject to availability and acceptance by Traveling Socotra.
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the booking process.
- Payment for tours must be made in full at the time of booking, unless otherwise specified.
- Tour itineraries are subject to changes due to weather conditions.
- Prices are subject to change without notice, but any such changes will not affect bookings already confirmed.
4. Flights – Ticket reservation (a)
- You cannot book the Jeddah to Socotra flights online. That means we need to book the flights for you. This is a free service we provide for our customers.
- The reservation is subject to availability. Confirmation of flight availability can take up to 3-4 working days. If the flight is not available per your booking dates, you will be notified and will be asked to select a different date or opt for a full refund.
- The booking and issuing of the actual flight tickets is a manual process, therefor it can take up to 10-14 working days for us to receive your tickets.
4. Flights – Changes and cancellations (b)
- We are not responsible for the flights and/or changes or cancellations to your flight made by the airline. Nor are we responsible for any costs associated with potential changes or cancellations.
- In the unfortunate case your flight back (SCT to JED) is cancelled and you need to stay on the island for more days than your original booking covered, then Traveling Socotra will offer assistance with accommodation, transportation, food, English speaking guide, Starlink internet etc… to make you as comfortable as possible. However these services come at an extra cost. We do commit ourselves to only charge you the real costs for these extra days and these costs will be communicated to you in a timely manner.
- In the unfortunate case your flight to Socotra (JED to SCT) is cancelled and you cannot start your tour, then Traveling Socotra will offer you a free rebooking of your trip and not charge you the usual change fee. You may choose a later date in the season or even postpone your trip to next season.
5. Cancellation and Refund Policy
- Booking cancellations must be made in writing and are subject to our cancellation policy, which is stated in the FAQ section at the bottom of each tour page.
- Refunds will be processed in accordance with our refund policy, which is stated in the FAQ section at the bottom of each tour page, and will take into account the 5,15% payment fee that was paid to Stripe (and is never refundable).
- We reserve the right to cancel any booking due to unforeseen circumstances, in which case a full refund will be issued.
6. Travel Documents
- You are responsible for ensuring that you have valid travel documents, including passports and visas, as required by the destinations to get to your tour.
- Traveling Socotra is not responsible for any issues arising from failure to obtain necessary travel documents.
7. Health and Safety
- You are responsible for ensuring that you are in good health to participate in the tour and have obtained any necessary medical clearances.
- You must follow all safety instructions provided by our guides and staff during the tour.
- You accept that traveling to the remote island of Socotra, which is part of Yemen, a heavily sanctioned country, can carry additional risks.
- We strongly recommend an additional travel insurance that covers all your medical expenses and potential flight cancellations.
8. Intellectual Property
- All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of Traveling Socotra or its content suppliers and is protected by intellectual property laws.
- You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content on our website without our express written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
- Traveling Socotra is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of our website or services.
- Our liability for direct damages arising from your use of our website or services is limited to the amount you paid for the tour.
10. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of United Arab Emirates. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
11. Changes to Terms and Conditions
The terms and conditions applicable to your booking are those in force on the date the booking is made, as shown by the Effective Date above. We may update these terms and conditions from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new terms and conditions on our website and updating the effective date. Your continued use of our website and services after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
