The booking process through the website was simple, reliable, and gave me full confidence. All questions and requests were handled exceptionally.

Once we arrived, everything was taken care of with such heart and detail. The local team was amazing - welcoming, warm, and always going the extra mile. We had the pleasure of traveling with Akram no. 1, our friendly, fun and highly skilled driver, whose expert 4WD skills made even the most rugged tracks feel smooth and safe. Akram no. 2, our kind, knowledgeable and reliable guide, shared so much insight into the island’s culture and nature. Their presence made the trip deeply memorable. They were both respectful, engaging, and full of local knowledge - I feel truly lucky to have shared the experience with them and left feeling like I’ve made lifelong friends.

A really thoughtful and appreciated touch was being personally greeted at the airport by Ali, one of Traveling Socotra’s co-founders, and even more so when he checked in with us later during the trip - it really showed the team’s genuine care and personal investment in every traveler's experience.

The luxury camp setup was beyond impressive - clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared. The chef cooked fresh, delicious meals every day, and the food quickly became one of the highlights of the trip. One memorable experience was the opportunity to go fishing, then have the chef prepare the fresh catch for dinner - it doesn’t get more special than that. Another wonderful initiative we admired was Traveling Socotra’s plastic collection effort, showing their commitment to preserving this remarkable environment.

My personal favorite moment was waking up in Fermhin Forest, surrounded by the iconic Dragon Blood trees. Another standout memory was driving through the landscape, music playing, smiling and dancing in the car with both Akrams, soaking in the island’s raw beauty.

Socotra is unlike anywhere else in the world, and Traveling Socotra made the entire experience feel joyful, safe, and soul-nourishing. I’m already planning to return within the year - and I wholeheartedly recommend this incredible agency to anyone ready for a true adventure.

Excellent agency with wonderful staff. Great experience! The island of Socotra had been on my bucket list for some time and I finally decided it was time to go. So I checked a few agencies on the web and finally settled on Traveling Socotra.
It proved to be an excellent choice!

The guys were all fantastic, from the drivers to the kitchen cooks. Always cheerful, ready to help and nice to spend time with. Our guide (Ahmed) was extremely knowledgeable about the island. He always had answers to our questions and was happy to explain local customs. The group always worked relentlessly and happily to give us the best experience.
The accommodation was excellent. The tents were comfortable and very spacious. The food was consistently good and fresh.

Another thing that it's worth mentioning was the attention to the environment and the will to leave no trace of out passage behind. On the last day we even spent 15-20 minutes collecting plastic brought by the wind or left by other less caring groups.

No words can really describe the profound experience that awaits you, when connecting with Socotras spectacular natural wonders, warm, hospitable people and colourful culture 💚 How can one describe the sensations and thoughts evoked in the connection with our planet in its most unspoiled, untouched and magnificent beauty and rawness, present in the white beaches, dunes and deserts, sapphireblue, starry nightskies with firetailed shootingstars; turquise seas and emerald wadis; majestic mountains, ancient and mystic dragonbloodtrees; friendly, pinkflowered bottletrees against the blueskies, dotted with elegantly floating egyptian vultures and black/orange starlings; camels moving slowly and gracefully along the way; children running towards you with big smiles and ‘Hello!’, ‘Where’ you from?!’; nightly bonfires, storytelling and delicious yemeni food. I was deeply touched and humbled in the meeting with all these wonders, and blessed to have this unique experience by the very warm, timely and professional support of Travelling Socotras amazing staff; the genuine friendlyness, openess, humour and professionalism of Abdul, Heni, Salem and the full crew of our tour will always be remembered 💪🏽🎶🤠💞, thanks for making the whole trip so utterly enjoyable, fun and interesting, setting up the beautiful camp every night and preparing and serving delicious food; special thanks to Salem, our chef, who taught us to make Ba khamri (delicious yemeni bread); this delicasse will be highly promoted in Denmark!, special thanks to Heni for fun/‘mangaina’ and very proff driving of the spacious 4x4 in places I would have thought impassable, always with a smile and laugh - and for playing Tejbaanet (yemeni stickgame) with us at night😅, and last but not least special thanks to Abdul, who in the most friendly manner shared his extensive knowlegde about Socotra with us and introduce us to great yemeni music, modern and traditional; Shkur bene 💚 I enjoyed the full trip immensely, including the collecting of plastic on the last day, when 6 large bags of plasticwaste was removed from the beach, and we felt we gave back just a tiny-little bit of what this majestic island gave to us ❤️ The safe and pretty convinient frame of this adventure was set already before departure by the help of Johan and Ellemieke, who would answer any question within a few hours via Whatsapp, and the convinient online-paymentsystem, which made it possible to pay for the whole trip online without the hazzles of dealing with cash. And finally, the option of choosing the luxurytent must be mentioned as one unique and worth-every-penny experience; wow, what comfort and beauty it was, to rest in the middle of nature in this Rolls Royce of tents 🎪☺️ My most sincere recommendations goes out to this company; I would not hesitate to make another journey with Travelling Socotra, and hope to get the opportunity again some day, InshaAllah🙏💚

Personal narrative: female solo backpacker Well where to begin. I spotted this island a year ago and immediately had to go as soon as possible. With trying to find the best tour that suited me as well as finding one that made me feel comfortable. As not much is written about the island and to be honest that's why I liked it even more. Although being a solo female traveller it was a priority to make sure I knew it was also professional. So I finally found my website/tour group 'Travelling Socotra' I have no regrets. I chose to be with a group, there are options for private also. Meeting others from across the world to enjoy the island together, sharing stories was a great experience. The set up that they had for tents made me feel like royalty and those weren't even the glamping. (For someone who enjoys camping, with a regular single small tent) I could also stand in my tent. The whole plan that our amazing guide, Ahmed (apologies if it's misspelt) planned out for us so that we could see everything around weather conditions and tourists. So we got most of the places to ourselves even some of the camping. The equipment of our own shower brought with us and toilet so lucky to have those. (They do have toilets and showers already, just nice to have our own) The team! now that was my favourite combined with the actual island itself. They made my experience. They are wonderful people that are genuine, fun, and may I add crazy (funny and good time) letting us in with their kindness of singing, dancing, stories. I will miss them all. Now learning Socotri for me was tricky as it's not like any language I have heard and the language they know is also arabic so haven't listened to that either but I enjoyed learning a couple of words that could stick into my brain and will hold dearly. This is an island that I would love to see develop in their own way and to be taken care of and respected when visiting just as they would you. Lots of love Socotra

Unforgettable Trip to Socotra I spent one week with Traveling Socotra in November, and I can highly recommend this tour operator. The crew was fantastic – our guide Nasser, the cooks, drivers, and assistants were all very motivated and made sure we had a great experience. Sleeping in the yurt was a unique highlight and definitely a must-try, it's totally worth the extra cost! The food was fresh and delicious, with plenty of snacks and cold soft drinks available throughout the trip. The island’s stunning nature was breathtaking, and we could stop for photos whenever we wanted. Booking and payment were easy and straightforward. An unforgettable journey!

Beyond Expectations: Unique Socotra with the Dream Team Socotra is a truly unique island. The landscapes are absolutely stunning, with the iconic Dragon's Blood trees, beaches, dunes, and hidden gems like the Homhil Protected Area with its natural infinity pool. It's like stepping onto another planet, with incredible biodiversity and unique flora and fauna you won't find anywhere else in the world. Exploring the island feels like discovering a lost world.

Travelling Socotra provided an amazing experience. They took care of everything - visas, drone permits, even the flights! Their team on the ground was incredible. Abdul-Raoof, our passionate guide, knew every hidden corner of the island. Hanni & Marwan, our expert drivers, tackled the terrain like champs and amazing cooks who prepared delicious meals. Shoutout to Bonassera for keeping the vibes high! This crew was MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE level good.

I felt safe and well taken care of throughout the entire trip, even during the more adventurous activities like hiking in the mountains and swimming in the wadi pools. They provided all the necessary equipment and ensured our safety at all times. They showed us the most beautiful spots on the island, including hidden caves, secluded beaches, and breathtaking viewpoints. We even had the chance to experience the local culture, visiting a traditional village and learning about the Socotran way of life. We were welcomed with open arms and shared unforgettable moments with the locals.
